Did most women and men really use to look as good as they show in movies & TV shows about the 50s and 60s?

Women with pretty looking hair, dressing in a very classy, lady like way? And did most men really wear a suit, smart shoes and tie?

Yes they did........they looked very normal back in those days!.....no facelifts, no breast implants, no porcelin veneers, no piercings through the nose, eyebrow, tongue, up the ears, through nipples or labia. Women were about size 14 (even Marilyn Monroe was a size 14) and size 0 and 2 were unheard of.

Men were clean cut and didn%26#039;t colour their hair. Women wore aprons in the kitchen when they were cooking/baking and men and women alike carried hankies.

How times have changed!
Reply:Not everyone, of course, but most middle class and higher people did dress like that... especially in the 50s. The women in the old shows are a bit exaggerated, as most didn%26#039;t dress like that when they were cooking and cleaning house. But they would change into something nice for the evening meal. My father wore a suit, white shirt, tie and dress shoes to work every day.
